The Fertility Podcast: What Is Asherman's Syndrome?

I was honoured to guest present an episode of The Fertility Podcast to chat with Emilie Jones-Ransley about our shared experiences of infertility struggles as card-carrying members of ‘The Thin Lining Brigade’.

Emilie shared her experience of Asherman's syndrome - a (rare but devastating) complication of miscarriage surgery, the trials and tribulations of struggling with womb lining issues, and her journey through IVF and surrogacy, as well as discussing the facts and hacks about dealing with tricky lining from the patient’s point of view.

The second half of the episode is an interview with Dr Adrian Lower, an 'A lister' in the Asherman's world (and Emilie's consultant) to discuss Asherman's syndrome from the clinical perspective - to help you better understand how it is caused, how it can be diagnosed and what you need to look out for.⠀

The Fertility Forum @ RCOG

On 30th March I was delighted to attend the Fertility Forum, an event hosted by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in collaboration with the British Fertility Society and the HFEA, to bring the public and fertility professions together for a day of talks, seminars and discussions for anyone affected by fertility issues. The sessions covered a broad range of topics in a non-commercial setting - the focus was on providing accurate, evidence-based and unbiased information, where no one was trying to sell you anything.

You can watch videos of the presentations from the day here on the new RCOG Fertility Hub

Confusing fertility advice

I was delighted to work with the RCOG press office to support the release of their latest research, which highlights the extent to which confusing and contradictory fertility advice is sparking unnecessary worry among UK women - and was picked up by media outlets including Huffington Post:

The Fertility Podcast

On the day itself I took up the mic as a roving reporter for The Fertility Podcast, to ask some of the speakers to bust some fertility myths.

My interview with The Fertility Podcast

poddy.png

I was deeply honoured to have been invited onto The Fertility Podcast to record an interview about my infertility journey, the importance of finding your tribe for support (from other members of the club no one wants to join), and what I’m hoping to achieve with this book project (and how you can contribute by sharing your story)

The podcast went live today - fittingly on the first day of National Fertility Week , supporting this year’s theme #YouAreNotAlone

Thank you so much to Natalie at The Fertility Podcast for having me on: I really enjoyed our chat, and can’t wait to come back in a few months with updates about all the amazing stories you wonderful people are sharing.

Hope you enjoy! If you want to get in touch about anything in the podcast, just drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you.
